ABOUT BROOKSVILLE COMPUTER
Born in Manhattan New York, I have been living in Florida since 2004.
After teaching myself how to use computers in the days of the Commodore 64 and TI-994A I went to my first Computer School within 100 yards of the World Trade Center to study network engineering, graduating 2 months before 9/11.
I later enrolled at InterCert in Manhattan where I majored in CISCO routers and PIX Firewalls, and later earned my CISCO, CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network plus professional certifications to add to my Network Engineering certification.
I have taught classes at the Hernando Computer Club, at the East Hernando Library and taught many one on one computer classes as well.
I built my first intranet company web site at CWE (the Consortium for Worker Education) in Manhattan while working at the office of the NYS Department of Labor.
I began building web sites professionally upon my arrival in Florida for small businesses without a web presence. Based on the work I did for about 50 local businesses I was approached by the director of Hernando County's tourism board and contracted to evaluate bid proposals from seven of the country's largest tourism web development firms. My job was to study, evaluate and explain the proposals in plain English to the board and be present during negotiations with the winning firm. Much of the seven different proposals contents involved explaining advanced proprietary search engine optimization techniques "not to be revealed to the public". As I was privileged to this information I applied the techniques to any of the new sites I built, achieving positive results.
My focus ever since has been on search engine optimization. After achieving first page rankings in Google competing against 55,000,000 pages for my computer web site on the same page with Apple, Dell, Asus, Hewlett Packard and a Computer Science University, and another first page ranking against 44,000,000 web pages I considered myself ready to enter into SEO professionally and changed my business model from Network Engineering / Data Communications and Web Design to Search Engine Optimization. I also regularly attend monthly SEO Meetups in Tampa where I network with other SEOs, SEMs (Search Engine Marketers specializing in Pay Per Click and Affiliate Marketing), web copywriters (web content writing specialists), web programmers and web designers interested in learning more about SEO.
