OFF SITE SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION SERVICES
A very necessary part of any well optimized website regards back link building. They can be one way links coming in to your web site, link exchanges between two sites, web directories and links pages or sub-categorized mini-directories (common, but not the most highly recommended). The best directories and link exchange plans rely on the knowledge that the most powerful back-links come from pages with content that relates to the type of content featured on the page(s) those links are pointing toward. The page title, the meta-tags, and other optimization and site links on the page and all of the other specifics of that page work best when they match as closely as possible the same category as the site they are pointing to. For a comprehensive list of linking strategies visit and bookmark my home page with many valuable resources including this link: 11 Experts on Link Development Answer Questions - just one of the many valued resources you can find there. A late 2008 Google interview is available there revealing Google's own back link evaluation strategy as well.
The majority of Links Pages jumble all of the different types of businesses together into one heap - and each link on the page reduces the value of the "proxy of trust" (or vote) which that page passes on to your web site. A better way to design such a page is by dividing the link pages up into categories and removing as many unnecessary links from each one as possible. Then your site would receive the highest possible return value from a link placed on one of those pages - back in 2005. That was still a fairly good idea then, but not any more. Do not use links pages on your site.
More recently three, four and five way links between sites functioned in a circular fashion providing a better way to create inter-site page rank building links since it was felt that neither search engines nor people working for them can easily determine such linking strategies (a situation which has been remedied), particularly when text rich links are placed in various areas of the site, and are relevant to the context and content of the sentence and page the link is placed within. For instance - Your health food site links to a fitness site, the fitness site then links to a an all natural organic skin care products site, and the skin care site links back to your health food site. All of the links are perceived by the Search Engine as one way links and you have gained the highest value for your outbound link, because you are receiving what the Search Engines deem to be a one way inbound link.
The entire linking system works even better if you're interesting in increasing traffic to your web site through an exchange system whereby you place some relevant text known as "anchor text" as the link on one of your health food site web pages linking to the fitness site - such as making the words (in a sentence on your site where the words will contextually fit into what you are saying on that page) "Healthy food and low impact cardiovascular training work together to help you live longer and grow younger"
These very specific text links produce the best traffic and those clicking are already interested in the subject. While the links are valuable for gaining traffic to your site, almost every SEO knows that the most important benefit of links from multiple sites using unique IP addresses and good anchor text links lies in how they will help lift your website in Search Engine rankings and bring your site closer and closer to the page one top spot in the search engines for your targeted keywords and key phrases.
Think Big for Link Building Through Social Media
As a Small Business SEO, in addition to the above methods my company employs a wide variety of link building techniques not described above. There are multiple classes of SEO - some, like Dana Willhoit, prefer to focus primarily on Press Releases. Other's like myself prefer to work on site management, blog setups, social media accounts and keyword research. Still other's do not like web page design at all and only specialize in creation of backlinks.
I provide you with the option of all three through my standard work or with the full service option of hiring my team to get things done faster by having three experts working on your project at once, at whatever level of intensity you choose for your company depending upon your ambition.
For larger sites with multiple sections divided into silos, subdomains or product lines where we determine that your site would best be developed by more than one SEO either SEO training is in order for your current webmaster or a second or even third reputable SEO team will be called in to take on the work and get it quickly online and fully up to speed. Back-link optimization requires time and patience - usually about six weeks based upon the re-crawl rates the search engines use to re-schedule a visit to your site and most particularly the sites that are newly linking to yours. Back links should not grow instantaneously as these look unnatural, but should be paced and spaced over intervals of time. Press releases naturally accelerate organic link creation due to releases being found of interest to some and those people or organizations then placing links to your web site. Thus Press Releases done in conjunction with an SEO link building campaign are the best guarantee of transparency gaining links.
